| 抄録(和) | 物体表面を触ったときの触覚的な粗さの知覚は,ヘッドホンからフィードバックされる接触音の影響を受けることが報告されている.刺激接触音以外の聴覚刺激が触覚的粗さおよび長さの知覚におよぼす影響を検討した研究によると,触覚的長さ知覚において聴覚刺激の影響はみられないのに対し,ホワイトノイズの提示と同時に触覚刺激を触れたとき,触覚的粗さ知覚のベキ指数は小さくなる.また,このクロスモーダルな影響は1000Hzの純音ではみられないと報告されている.この結果から,ホワイトノイズが触覚的表面情報処理に選択的に干渉する可能性が示唆された.しかし,触覚的粗さ知覚におよぼす聴覚刺激の影響が触覚刺激の粒子の大きさに依存する可能性が考えられる.そこで,本研究では,粗さ知覚の閾値に近い滑らかな刺激においても接触音以外の聴覚刺激の提示が同じように触覚的粗さ知覚に影響をおよぼすかどうかを検討した.実験の結果,粗い刺激においてホワイトノイズはより粗い方向に触知覚を変化させたが,滑らかな刺激では聴覚刺激の影響はみられなかった. |
| 抄録(英) | Previous studies reported that tactile sensations of surface roughness were affected by touch-produced sounds through headphones. Another research investigated the effects of the sounds irrelevant to the touch-produced sounds on the tactile perception. Their results showed that synchronizing their touch with white noise reduced the exponents (i.e. the slopes) of tactile roughness estimation function, although it did not modify tactile length estimation. In contrast, pure tones did not affect both of them. These results suggest that hearing white noise modifies tactile roughness perception selectively. In this study, we investigated whether or not the effects of touch-irrelevant sounds are observed broadly across the textured surface, especially in the tactile roughness perception of finer surfaces near the thresholds. The results showed that the white noise modified tactile perception toward rougher sensations in the coarser surfaces but the effects of the sounds were not observed in the finer surfaces. |
