Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Body movements are one of the very limited communication tools for preverbal infants to express their emotional states. In this study, we investigated infants' mental state of fatigue by monitoring their body movements during a habituation-dishabituation experiment. The movements such as hand-banging and clapping normally express infants' pleasurable mental states, but we found that they were also elicited by fatigue. Physical contact such as touching and sucking increased as they tired experiment stimuli. Furthermore, the results indicate that types of body movements for fatigue changed developmentally. |
