Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Three-dimensional (3D) image contents become very familiar, and are now used in various fields. For 3D image content generation Model Based Rendering is usually used, however, this needs a lot of time and work. So, easier technique for 3D image generation is necessary. Then, we propose a method, which generates a 3D picture from a Japanese traditional picture, ukiyoe. First, an ukiyoe is divided into a few parts, each of which represents different quasi-depth, for example, front, middle, back and background. Next, each part of image is arranged in a 3D virtual space by computer graphics. As a result, this makes it possible to easily generate a 3D picture from the Ukiyoe.
