Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a Non-Photorealistic Rendering (NPR) technique for generating colorful pointillism images on the basis of centroidal Voronoi diagram and error diffusion. Edge-preserved centroidal Voronoi diagrams are computed by using Topology Preserving Map (TPM) with square grids. Varying colors of generating points so that the complementary colors are neighbored while preserving the brightness, we generate colorful Voronoi diagrams. The number of the colors in the Voronoi diagram is reduced by using error diffusion on the square grid used in the TPM. Voronoi cells are rounded with a morphological filter and are painted with the reduced colors.
