Abstract(in English) Communication Test Earth System (CTES) is sub-system of Communications System for Communications, Oceanic and Meteorological Satellite (COMS). It develops the communication between hub and remote terminal using DVB-S/RCS standard. Also it provides the public communication network e.g. high-speed multimedia and internet service and the government communication network e.g. Public Protection and Disaster Relief (PPDR). Because of the rainfall attenuation of the Ka band communication it is essential to minimize the effect of the rainfall attenuation for implementation of the system. Hub determines the transmission mode according to the degree of the rainfall. Hub demodulator and remote terminal modulator receive the Information of the transmission mode. Then they communicate with each other in the transmission mode. This paper represents the measurement and evaluation of the system performance. This paper will introduce the modules of hub and remote terminal based on the DVB-S/RCS standard, the test configuration of system to measure BER performance, the result of BER performance, and a possible method to enhance the system performance.
