Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An OTDM access system transmitting 4×10Gb/s signal is proposed. All-optical parallel-serial conversion technique using XAM (Cross-absorption modulation) in an EA modulator (EAM) is applied for MUX/DEMUX of the signals. Injecting a 40Gb/s signal and 4x10GHz optical pulses after transmitted a 10-km SMF to an EAM, 40Gb/s-to-4x10Gb/s signal conversion for down stream transmission is confirmed. 4x10Gb/s-to-40Gb/s parallel/serial conversion using an EAM for upstream propagation is also carried out and fine BER performance is obtained through a transmission experiment using a 10-km SMF.
