An integrated circuit and characteristics of the Burst ID neural network

Abstract(in English) We report the characteristics of a neural network comprising neuron units with bursting, and its integrated circuit that is fabricated and measured successfully. We explain the characteristics of the single unit with a particle motion on a potential with active areas. The equations of the units are closely connected with the Hodgkin-Huxley equations. The network with the neuron units is able to solve combinatorial optimization problems with a high success rate, because the energy function is approximately obtained for the network. The fabricated silicon IC operates and suggests an application for information processing.
