Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In comparison with the youth, driving and visual performance in the elderly deteriorate. Many elderly do not recognize the degree of reduction in the performances precisely. The purpose of this research is to develop the system by which driving and visual performance is measured under a simulated-road condition. This system is useful to inform elderly drivers of their driving ability very much. This paper describes the system for measuring indispensable visual functions while driving (effective visual field, dynamic visual acuity, kinetic visual acuity, depth perception, and static visual acuity of the elderly with senile cataract). This paper also describes a measurement result of visual functions according to the generation.
