Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A surface LAN system utilizes the surfaces of furniture, floor, wall, cloth, etc as a communication network. Unlike the wired and wireless communication, the surface LAN system is a novel technology that allows the surface to provide room-size communications and other services including high-speed (gigabit speed) transmission and power supply concurrently. Here, we exhibit a surface LAN demonstration system that works like a multi-media conference system transmitting the video images through the surface LAN, and also show power supplies to mobile phone, lamp and electric fan, aiming at creating an intellectual life environment as the next generation universal technology
