Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In sensor networks, a user can retrieve sensing information from sensor networks in an on-demand manner by sending a query message. Upon receiving a query message, each sensor node that is corresponding to the query delivers its sensing data to a sink node. However, directly relaying all sensing data back towards the sink node is inefficient with respect to energy consumption, because most data are accumulated at a sink node, and nodes near the sink node are likely to consume more energy than nodes far away from the sink node. In this paper, we proposed an efficient scheme for on-demand data collection by taking the balance of energy consumption into account. In our scheme, the sensing data are collected and aggregated at local sink proxy that resides among the corresponding sensor nodes. The sink proxy is dynamic rotated among sensor nodes to achieve energy consumption balancing. The simulation results over IEEE 802.15.4 integrated NS-2 simulator reveal that our proposed scheme reduces the energy consumption of data collection in the network and achieves more balanced energy consumption among sensor nodes than in conventional approaches.
