Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Neuroscience research has been developed by basic biology, physiology as well as clinical observations/experiences. In recent years, neuroscience is getting integrated with mechanics and information technology. The Japanese Government regard Brain-Machine Interface (BMI) as one of the important strategic plans in the national guideline of the technology in future, "Innovation 25", and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science & Technology held the committee of advancing the brain science research. In this article, we first introduce the ethics of BMI in Japan, and then discuss the future direction based on the result of the conference "Implanting Changes : the Ethics of Neural Prosthetics" held in the United States.
