| Abstract(in English) | In the present study, we used functional MRI and investigated relationship between Eysenck personality traits (Extroversion, Introversion, and Neuroticism) and character of attention. we examined correlations with that personality traits sub-scale score(Extroversion sub-scale and Neuroticism sub-scale) and task performance, sub-scale score and activated brain areas by using switching task. The results from performance data showed positive correlation between switch costs meaning error rate of switching task and Extroversion sub-scale, and positive correlation between switch costs and Neuroticism sub-scale. The results from brain activation data showed positive correlations between Extroversion sub-scale and left middle frontal gyrus activation and left superior parietal lobule activation which were reported association with switching attention and inhibition of predominant response when attention is switched from one task to the other. Furthermore, we found negative correlation between Neuroticism sub-scale and left middle frontal gyrus activation which were reported association with switching attention. These results suggested that possibility of Introversity and Neuroticism has different attention ability. |
