Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It has already been shown that the sharpness evaluation method based on the cooperative human vision model is superior in performance to conventional methods. In this report, to clarify the factor of the vision model-based method's high performance, we changed six conventional metrics utilizing the imaging system's MTF into ones utilizing the Fourier transform of images outputted from imaging systems and compared their performance with the vision model-based method's performance. Consequently, it was concluded that the modification is effective in improving performance for sharpness evaluation and that the vision model-based method's high performance is caused by the model's image observation mechanism.
