Abstract(in English) The measurement method of millimeter-wave band effective conductivity of copper-clad dielectric substrates has been proposed using Whispering Gallery (WG) modes in circular disk samples with the diameter is about 20~40 times of wavelength. The method has an advantage for measuring the conductivity at many frequencies once by a resonator. This paper presents the effective conductivity measurement of sandwich-type dielectric substrates and copper-clad dielectric substrates with three types of copper foils in 40-65GHz band. At this moment it is difficult to compare the results with other methods, so that we propose to use two kinds of the WG resonators which have different field distribution and enhance the accuracy by getting agreements between them. The conductivity of electrodeposited copper foil is 50% to 70% of pure copper and that of rolled copper foils and both side shinning copper foils are 60% to 80%. The difference between the two types of the resonators is 7% for electrodeposited copper foils, 5% for both side shiny rolled copper foils and 2% for rolled copper foils. The error of conductivity is 15% by using the sandwich type WG resonator, 10% for the copper-clad resonator with dielectric thickness of 1.6mm and 6% for copper-clad resonator with thickness of 0.8mm.
