Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we introduce Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA). MAA is a combination technology of high availability functions. MAA has various technological elements such as Oracle Real Application Clusters, Oracle Data Guard, and Flashback technology, etc. We explain advantages and availability of Oracle Data Guard mainly composed of MAA in this paper. For example, using Oracle Data Guard minimizes the planed downtime when database is upgraded. Moreover, Partial Site Failover prevents the failure from the data corruption. And standby database can be made active temporarily by combining Oracle Data Guard with Flashback technology.
