Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Cross-borehole radar systems have been used to detect deeply located man-made tunnels in the middle area of Korea. One of the difficulties posed in the design of radar system and the analysis of received radar signals is that the electrical property of in-situ rock is strongly inhomogeneous. Dielectric properties of borehole cores are measured using open-ended coaxial probe in a frequency range from 2.3 to 100 MHz. The real part of measured complex permittivity profiles is distributed from 5.3 to 6.5 and the log scaled loss-tangent ranges from -1 to -3 according to sampled depth and location of borehole cores.
