Abstract(in English) Magnetotelluric (MT) surveys have been carried out in the low-enthalpy geothermal field in Pohang, Korea in 2002 and 2003. Preliminary three-dimensional (3D) inversion of MT data with static shifts was conducted using sensitivities for an initial homogeneous half-space, To analyze MT data more accurately, we use exact sensitivities and compare reconstructed images with those obtained by the inversion using only sensitivities for a homogeneous half-space. We also implement updated and approximated sensitivities to improve the effectiveness of the 3D inversion. In MT inversion, a suitable choice of static shift parameter is quite important because the removal of static shifts can effect to the inversion results throughout whole frequencies. Numerical experiments demonstrate that reconstructed resistivity images are comparable to resistivity logging results obtained near the center of the survey area.
