Joint Inversion of DC Resistivity and Travel Time Tomography Data Based on Multiple Constraints

Abstract(in English) Joint inversion of multidimensional geophysical data can provide ways to precisely image the subsurface structure and to directly estimate non-geophysical properties from geophysical measurements. We developed an algorithm for jointly inverting dc resistivity and travel time tomography data based on the multiple constraints : (1) structural similarity based on cross-gradient, (2) correlation between two different material properties, and (3) a priori information on the material property distribution. In order to study the effects of the different combination of regularizations, the numerical experiments of dc resistivity and travel-time tomography were carried out, and the performance of the proposed algorithm was demonstrated. As for studying the field data application, the data of crosshole dc resistivity and radar tomography were inverted, and the results were analyzed through the comparison of those obtained by the conventional independent inversion approach.
