| Abstract(in English) | In mobile networks, the speech codecs use higher compression rates than those in fixed networks because the radio resources are limited. This leads to a heterogeneous network environment, in which different speech codecs are used in fixed and mobile networks. Therefore, it is important to establish an objective evaluation method for such a heterogeneous network environment from the viewpoint of designing and managing the quality of experience (QoE) of end-to-end communication services. In estimating the end-to-end listening quality of such services, the conventional method takes the sum of the equipment impairment factors in individual segments on a psychological scale. However, this model cannot accurately estimate the overall quality. Therefore, this paper proposes a new method for estimating the overall quality based on the quality in each individual segment. Experimental results show that this model achieves better quality estimation performance than the conventional method. |
