Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have already proposed reliability model representing telecommunications networks considering paths and capacities, which is very useful for reliability designs in practice. However the proposed algorithm for evaluating its reliability has a problem because its evaluation time increases exponentially with the numbers of paths of model. Now this paper proposes new approximation algorithm focusing on an equation consist of reliabilities representing two cases, one assume a certain element of model is completely reliable while the other assume that the same element is completely unreliable. The algorithm uses the fact that uncertainty of the value of reliability in the later case, where the element is completely unreliable, causes only small error in the process of evaluation. Some numerical examples show that our new approximation algorithm shows fast evaluation time with quite small error.
