Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to increase productivity of knowledge workers, it is necessary to manage the organization so that workers exert their expertise in a most efficient way and are motivated to collaborate to synergize their expertise. To attain this, it is necessary to grasp the interaction of workers in the organization. We developed "Business Microscope" that offers visual image of organizational dynamics. Workers wear name-tag type sensor with infra-red transceivers/receivers, accelerometer, sound detector and wireless device. The sensor devices measure face-to-face interaction between workers and movement of wearers. The sensing data is converted into organizational dynamics image in a server. The Business Microscope visualizes communication frequency and activity in the organization, and is promising solution to improve productivity and decrease risks in a variety of industrial sections and businesses.
