Abstract(in English) | The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of social skills on physiognomic features and facial expressions among Koreans, Chinese, and Japanese. An analysis of covariance was conducted to investigate the relationships between expressiveness (differences between happy and anger faces) and the social skill. Results showed that the patterns of relationships between expressiveness and the social skill were different for Korean male and female. Facial expressions and the social skill had positive relations for Chinese but the pattern of the relationships were not different between male and female strongly. Japanese did not show the strong relationships between expressiveness and the social skill. The discriminant analysis showed that Japanese social expressions were not sensitive to discriminate the social skill. Results of both the analysis of covariance and the discriminant analysis suggested Japanese social skill were more effective except the facial expression that were more noticeable channels. There were similar among Koreans, Chinese , and Japanese that features about breadth of faces discriminated the social kill and that features around eyes discriminated the social skill for female. |
