Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An S-parameter measurement method is proposed for a two-port circuit without common ground (GND), which keeps GND terminals of the DUT in floating condition and S-parameters are measured using a network analyzer and an active differential probe. This method is applied to a printed circuit board (PCB) with known passive components and two RF-connector ports whose GND pads are not directly connected to a common GND on the PCB. Calculated S-parameters are compared with results of the conventional two-port measurement connecting the PCB directly to two coaxial cables. The generated common-mode current affects the measurement, so it is suppressed with ferrite cores. Some differences between the measurement results of proposed and conventional methods are pointed out.
