Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we establish a relationship between the widely-studied reduced-rank adaptive filtering and the recently developed technique based on quadratic-metric projection, which is a best approximation of an arbitrary point in a closed convex subset of a real Hilbert space with respect to a quadratic-norm. Based on the relations, we present a way to bring the information used in the reduced-rank adaptive filtering to the design of the quadratic-metric, which is the key factor to determine the convergence rate of the quadratic-metric projection techniques. The quadratic-metric projection method is more robust in the case that the information to design the rank-reduction matrix has uncertainty, as demonstrated by numerical examples in the application to interference suppression in DS/CDMA wireless communication systems.
