Abstract(in English) As the growth of optical fiber networks, the traffic speed is drastically increasing. As a result, the improvement of the processing speed of the network equipment is requested. However, it was expected that a past electrical signal processing become a bottleneck of signal transmission. And now, the front-runner who solves the problem is an optical interconnection. Then, we have developed the small-diameter 12-fiber ribbon and 12-fiber cord using small-diameter multimode fiber, for optical interconnection. The developed optical cord is possible to use high density interconnect, and various characteristics were satisfied.
