Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Conventional rectangular metallic waveguides are seldom used in the frequency region over two times higher than the cutoff frequency, because of higher mode propagation. Single mode propagation is available in a metallic waveguide with arrayed dielectric rods at the center of the waveguide in the frequency under twice the cutoff frequency region using the TE_<10> mode, and in the frequency over twice the cutoff frequency region using the TE_<20> mode, because of restrictions of the TE_<10> mode. If a metallic waveguide, dielectric constant and dielectric loss tangent are assumed to be WR-90 (f_c〓6.55 GHz), 29.5 and 1×10^<-4>, respectively, then the attenuation constants are smaller than 0.2 dB/m in the frequency range from 7.5 to 12 GHz, 15.5 to 16.4 GHz, and from 17.0 to 20.9 GHz.
