Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Conventional rectangular metallic waveguides are seldom used in the frequency region over two times higher than the cutoff frequency, because of higher mode propagation. Single mode propagation is available in a metallic waveguide with arrayed dielectric rods at the center of the waveguide in the frequency under twice the cutoff frequency region using the TE_<10> mode, and in the frequency over twice the cutoff frequency region using the TE_<20> mode, because of restrictions of the TE_<10> mode. If a metallic waveguide, dielectric constant and dielectric loss tangent are assumed to be WR-90 (f_c〓6.55 GHz), 29.5 and 1×10^<-4>, respectively, then the attenuation constants are smaller than 0.2 dB/m in the frequency range from 7.5 to 12 GHz, 15.5 to 16.4 GHz, and from 17.0 to 20.9 GHz. |
