Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper we present an evaluation of the timer-controlled transmission procedures within the data link layer protocol of a Fieldbus Network of a standard draft [1], using Timed Colored Petri nets. We present a systematic method to convert the ESTELLE based protocol specification into a colored Petri net executable model. The model is then executed by a Colored Petri net simulation package and the results of the simulations are used to analyze the behavior of the protocol in terms of message cycle management, and assess the impact of the Token Rotation time used in the protocol, combined with the priority mechanisms adopted in the protocol specification on the system performance.
