Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report deals with an efficient method for optimal design of computer networks by using queueing models and simulations. The evaluation function for traffic is described by speeds of transmission line and processing units. In the process of optimization, the derivatives of evaluation function are numerically calculated in simulations by using SPA (Smoothed Perturbation Analysis) which utilizes the fact that the drivatives are transmitted through a path, and the system needs smaller computation time. Several examples by using queueing models and simulation are shown for the networks composed of token-ring and LANs
