| Abstract(in English) | This paper presents a newly developed portable satellite communications terminal for Inmarsat-C services. This portable terminal is developed so as to allow the users to enjoy personal satellite message communications services by using a portable terminal. We named this terminal "Inmarsat Mini-C Terminal", because the size of the developed terminal is much smaller than the current commercialized Inmarsat C terminals in the world. This paper introduces the feature of Inmarsat Mini-C terminal and proposes the operation methods with its original service concepts. The results of field experiments in urban area using a portable patch antenna and in semi-urban area using a car mounted omnidirectional antenna are also presented in this paper. |
