Abstract(in English) The demand for Ethernet services is increasing and service providers are being requested to support new bandwidth-hungry services such as video on demand and high speed internet over them. As a result, the effective transport of 10 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces is a major concern among service providers. In this paper, we describe the metro ring network architecture used to directly transport Ethernet data using DWDM-colored 10 GbE interfaces with optical transport network framing on IP/MPLS routers over multiple metro DWDM rings interconnected by the wavelength cross-connect and the applicability of GMPLS protocols to manage a network resource.
