Abstract(in English) | In this report, we study about polarization conversion utilizing magnetophotonic crystal (MPC) waveguide with absolute photonic band gap (PBG). At first, we determine structural parameters of a compound type MPC of honeycomb lattice and triangular lattice and show that an absolute PBG exists in the MPC. Then, we determine the structural parameters of MPC waveguide by guided-mode analysis based on scalar finite element method (FEM) for the non-magnetized waveguide, and show that in the magnetized waveguide, polarization conversion occurs in 14.5 period or so, by full-vector FEM guided-mode analysis. Finally, we demonstrate MPC waveguide and show that mode conversion occurs actually. |
