Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A study of electrooptic effect of a freely suspended (FS) ferroelectric liquid crystal film has been carried out. Alternating electric field was applied to the FS film. In the case of a thick film in which molecules organize a helicoidal structure, characteristic properties were observed. Transmission intensity was depending on both sign and strength of the applied field. Amplitude of transmission intensity is proportional to amplitude of the applied field in a range between 0.33V/cm and 167V/cm.
