| 抄録(和) | ブレードサーバのような省スペース性を重視したプラットフォームにおけるIO柔軟性の向上には,複数のプロトコルが単一の物理インターフェースを共有可能な統合スイッチを用いたスイッチ接続型システムが有効である.我々は,各プロトコルが単一の物理インターフェースを共有する事に起因するユーザアプリのIO性能の低下を防ぐことを目的として,スイッチ接続型システムに,各プロトコルの利用帯域の監視と必要帯域の割当を実現する管理マネージャを試作した.スイッチ接続型システムの統合スイッチとしてAdvanced Switch Interconnect (ASI)を用い,管理マネージャはASIミドルウエアの一部として実装した.このプロトタイプを評価した結果,管理マネージャの稼動により,システムが不安定となったりユーザアプリの性能が低下するという問題が発生することが分かった.プロファイル分析の結果,この問題の原因は,管理マネージャおよびそのミドルウエアでソフトウエアのメッセージ通信の処理が競合したためであり,そのような競合が起こらないようソフトウエアの処理を変更することで解決できる見込みを得た. |
| 抄録(英) | A switch-connected system, in which CPU modules and IOs are connected with an unified switch and multiple protocols share a physical interface of the switch, is effective to improve its IO flexibility for the small form factor platform like blade servers. To avoid IO performance degradation caused by the congestion between protocols that share a physical interface, we have developed and evaluated the manager software that monitors and controls bandwidth of protocols on a switch-connected system. The unified switch of the system is based on Advanced Switching Interconnect (ASI) and the manager software is implemented as a module of ASI middleware. The evaluation results show that the system became unstable and the performance of a user application fell because of the manager software. As the result of the profiling analysis of the manager software, we clarified that these problems were caused by congestion of the messages to communicate between the manager software and the middleware. Thus the system unstableness and the performance degradation can improve by changing software architecture of the middleware. |
