| Abstract(in English) | A switch-connected system, in which CPU modules and IOs are connected with an unified switch and multiple protocols share a physical interface of the switch, is effective to improve its IO flexibility for the small form factor platform like blade servers. To avoid IO performance degradation caused by the congestion between protocols that share a physical interface, we have developed and evaluated the manager software that monitors and controls bandwidth of protocols on a switch-connected system. The unified switch of the system is based on Advanced Switching Interconnect (ASI) and the manager software is implemented as a module of ASI middleware. The evaluation results show that the system became unstable and the performance of a user application fell because of the manager software. As the result of the profiling analysis of the manager software, we clarified that these problems were caused by congestion of the messages to communicate between the manager software and the middleware. Thus the system unstableness and the performance degradation can improve by changing software architecture of the middleware. |
