| Abstract(in English) | There are many Japanese historical documents whose authors and written age are unclear. To clarify these, we have to do the followings : (1) to recognize the characters from the images of the documents ; (2) to transform the Kana characters in the documents into their original Chinese characters (called Jibo) from which these Kanas have been obtained ; (3) to compute the appearance frequencies of the Kanas and compare them with those documents whose authors and written age are known. In this paper, aiming at developing a system that can identify ages, authors, etc. of Japanese historical documents, we describes conception of our system, modeling and recognizing method of handwritten characters based on graph theory. |
