Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Multi-mode film waveguides are expected to be applied to optical interconnect between circuit packages, and so on. In this study, we propose, a low cost replication method of polymer waveguides using flexible film stamps. Fabricated film waveguide had a small propagation loss, which was measured by a cut-back method, of 0.06 dB/cm at the wavelength of 850 nm. We have therefore applied it to a flexible 12 ch film waveguide with MT type connectors. The insertion losses were low with values of 1.5 to 1.9 dB. These results show the potential for applications involving optical interconnection with OCBs.
