Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) N719 dye adsorption ((Bu_4N)_2-[Ru(dcbpyH)_2(NCS)_2] complex) on anatase TiO_2 surfaces have been investigated to achieve high-density dye adsorption. By using an IR absorption measurement with a multiple internal reflection, we have found the N719 dye dissociatively adsorbs to the TiO_2 surfaces with its COOTBA on surface OH sites and TBA (tetrabutylammonium) fragments dissociated from COOTBA is adsorbed on other sites on TiO_2. The generation of OH sites by a UV irradiation on TiO_2 surfaces prior to the N719 dye-adsorption is effective to increase short circuit current of the dye-sensitized solar cells.
