Highly reliable operation of 660nm laser diodes for POF data links

Abstract(in English) We have successfully fabricated high-reliable and high-speed red laser diodes. More than 10, 000 hours accelerated life tests have been carried out for 660nm GaInP/AlGaInP laser diodes at 5mW. The median lifetime at 60℃ is estimated to be 1×10^6 hours. Operation of these laser is demonstrated at 1.25Gbps and good eye diagrams are obtained. These high-reliability and high-speed characteristics are promising for POF data link use.
