Fluctuations of Sound Propagation at Hashirimizu Port

Abstract(in English) Acoustical monitoring method could monitor wide area such as ocean because it can spatially measure the measurement object with a few sensors. It is important to monitor ocean structure changes for understanding global climate changes and for controlling aquatic resources. In this report, we investigated sound propagation characteristics using sound propagated data measured at Hashirimizu port of Yokosuka in August 2006. Water depth change caused by tide affected received signal amplitude. It was also confirmed from simulated sound pressure by FDTD method through the change of assumed water depth.
