Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this study, university accidents that occurred during experiments were systematically recorded and classified to investigate their tendency and background factors from a cognitive-factors viewpoint. Accidents were divided into two types, work-related knowledge and skill. The latter was further divided into high and low levels according to abilities required for tasks. Results demonstrated that there were some differences in cognitive factors for each kind of accident and each specialized field. Universities provide education and study in many major fields in which members have various levels of knowledge and skill. Therefore, following Tachikake, Yamamoto, and Usui (2005), securing safety in universities was subsequently discussed based on the results of this study.
