Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A wavelength tunable laser diode is very useful for characterization of optical devices such as optical frequency filters. However it is very difficult to know the instantaneous optical frequency of the wavelength tunable laser diode within the accuracy of about 1GHz when the optical frequency sweep speed exceeds about 1 THz/s. We propose a method for measuring the instantaneous optical frequency of a wavelength tunable laser diode utilizing the Michelson interferometer and a Fabry-Perot etalon. Moreover, it is confirmed that the frequency modulation characteristics of a wavelength tunable laser diode changes depending on the frequency sweep speed.
