Abstract(in English) | Long period fiber grating (LPFG) is worked as a variable optical attenuator (VOA) that the transmission loss at the resonance wavelength can be varied by mechanically bending the LPFG. In this paper Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as a solid loading medium is used to protect the LPFG We made the VOA and evaluated transmission characteristics.Those results show that transmission loss could be controled from 3.32 to 9.46dB. |
