Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As the optical phase-shift keying is being introduced in high-speed optical transmission system, threre is growing importance of the diagnostic technique. In this paper, we observe the amplitude and phase statistics of optical DPSK signal using a newly proposed 1-bit delayed dual-channel coherent sampling technique and report on the experimental results. The constellation diagrams measured by this method reflect the amplitudes demodulated with a 1-bit delayed interferometer. The waveform degradation caused by the coherency of the light source and the pattern effect of the phase modulator is successfully observed in the experiment. Also discussed is the excess noise of the diagnosis system.
