Identification of the Projection for a Picture by Fish Eye Lens

Abstract(in English) This paper deals with a method to calibrate the photo picture taken by the 35 mm single-lens reflex digital camera attaching a fish-eye lens. In this paper, we call usual camera lens as the normal lens that maps a straight line into a straight line. We have proposed a method by that we can make the images of the virtual normal lens from pictures taken by a fish-eye lens. In this paper, we propose an identification method of the fish eye lens using the two criterion functions. The first one is the error from the rectangular lattices. It is called as the lattice strain. The other is the error from the picture taken by the normal lens. It is called as the transform strain. We make a computer program in order to show the evaluation of the proposed method. By several examples we can show that the lens used for examination was made by the equidistance projection.
