Abstract(in English) | This paper is described about overview of the Speech Rate Conversion Technology and its applications. The reason why we launched this research was a heartfelt voice from an elderly people about the difficulty of catching of rapid speech among some broadcasting program. Elderly people often find that the speech of contemporary broadcasting is too fast for comfortable listening. This technology was applied to development of a supportive tool, such as making possible listening comprehension of an ultra high-speed speech, or reproducing the natural sound that is accompanied with the variable rate moving picture. Unprecedented new broadcasting service and program production were realized by using this technology. |
