Abstract(in English) | In this report, we first introduce haptic interface devices, which input and output haptic media. Next, as applications of haptic, audio, and visual communications, we outline a distributed virtual museum, a remote calligraphy system, a remote drawing instruction system, collaborative work, a networked real-time game, and a haptic media, sound, and video transfer system which the authors have researched and developed so far. Then, we describe QoS in the applications and QoS control. As QoS control, we explain dead-reckoning, media synchronization control, causality control, and adaptive control of reaction force. Finally, we report influences of network latency investigated by subjective assessment in the networked real-time game and the haptic media, sound, and video transfer system. |
