A Study on a Quality Guarantee Method for High-Speed Video Streaming

Abstract(in English) In order to provide high-speed and high quality video streaming delivery services such as VoD and Live on IP networks such as the Internet and Next Generation Network, Service providers are required to construct QoS systems that guarantee high quality video streaming between end points, and at the same time to make the best effort for keeping fairness of bandwidth utilization. In order to realize both of them, they are required to introduce any quality guarantee method that guarantees video quality perfectly, and at the same time abstains unnecessary QoS operation as much as possible. From the reason above, this time we studied a quality guarantee method for high-speed video streaming that will satisfy the above requirements. And at the same time we verified the operation of the method experimentally. The method is organized with a dynamic QoS function by a network QoS technique and SNMP, and a QoS start-up function by SIP. In this paper, we describe the aspects of the method and the experimental results.
