End-to-End QoS Control for Multi-domain Network

Abstract(in English) In order to provide users with applications demanding QoS in real time, an end-to-end QoS control system should be able to process a large number of QoS requests received from mobile nodes at high speed. In this paper, we propose a novel end-to-end QoS control method which divides core network into several domains and allocates a network management server to each domain. Each server manages network resources in a limited area of core network, so that it can finish the resource reservation process in a short time. Furthermore, in order to reduce the times of communications between servers, a resource management function of the server reserves a large amount of resource in other domains in advance and uses a part of it for each QoS request. The proposed method is shown through performance evaluation to shorten the time required for processing QoS requests compared to the existing centralized QoS control method.
