Abstract(in English) NHK is studying the advanced satellite broadcasting system which aims to increase transmission capacity more than that of the present satellite broadcasting system named the Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting for Satellite (ISDB-S). In this advanced system, we expect to increase transmission capacity by approximately 30% by adopting Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) codes and reduced roll-off factor. Furthermore, it is possible to further increase transmission capacity by using multi-level amplitude and phase modulation. On the other hand, it is vulnerable to non-linearity of amplifiers in satellite transmissions. In this paper, we report the result of an impact of non-linear amplification on multi-level modulation schemes for the advanced satellite broadcasting system considering the relation between symbol rate and occupied bandwidth.
