| 抄録(英) | By analyzing three major types of postposing (right dislocation) by Japanese-speaking adults, mothers and children, the present study examines (i) whether two-year-olds are sensitive to information structure of grammatical constructions, and (ii) whether the types of postposing that are grammaticalized in adult speech are also grammaticalized in two-year-olds. The Newness for postposed elements (Tails) indicates that children's postposing is quite adult-like with respect to Old-New contrast However, the lengths of main sentences (Bodies) and Tails show that their postposing may not yet be fully grammaticalized. |
